Drug Discovery
Drug discovery is the process of discovering novel candidate pharmaceuticals in the domains of medicine, biotechnology, and pharmacology. Modern drug discovery entails identifying screening hits, medicinal chemistry, and optimization of those hits to improve affinity, selectivity (to lower the risk of adverse effects), efficacy or potency, metabolic stability (to extend the half-life), and oral bioavailability.
